The username msuzanneb is the Authors name, Mary Suzanne Barrett. As a teenage I always wanted to write with the pen name msuzanne, so now it is. I found writing poems and journaling a wonderful form of self-expression and creativity to handle the teenage emotional storms. As an adult I found little to no time for a creative outlet until recently. Through prayer and with inspiration of a loving spiritual community, family and friends I was encouraged to allow my creativity to grow. It is the Spirit working through me that has led to my desire to share these words.
Please feel free to comment on any of the poems or send an email with your thoughts to: msb0811@gmail.com
This blog is open to guest authors who would like to share their creativity through words. These can be poems, spiritual thoughts, and inspiring short stories. All entries must be limited to 1000 words or less. Thank you for visiting the God Is I am blog. www.godisiam.net Enjoy this wonderful day!

When I first started blogging I did not understand how it would open my mind and my world. It was a kind of experiment. I wanted to share my poems but also wanted to find out where I fit spiritually with the rest of the world. At first I wondered if anyone else would read them. I was thirsty for spirituality…I wanted to hear from others…I wanted to grow my knowledge and my understanding of God. And it is what has happened. I am learning from each blog I read, each comment posted, and with each blogger coming to life as my friend and spiritual guide.
I have been told my poems are “old fashioned sounding” so I respond “that is ok, I am a very old soul.” I recognize that many of my poems have a similar sound as they are about The Spirit in Nature and Creation. I never took a creative writing class or studied poetry so I am committing myself to learning more to enhance my poetry. I am not a contemporary poet but I can learn from contemporary thoughts. I do not consider myself a philosopher or a sage. I see myself as a person that God has blessed with these words. And I know that God is older than my spirit…so for my “Old Fashioned Poetry” I am in good company.

We are kindred sprits and old souls! But that is okay for me also, as i will always try to emulate His ways, which i have seemed to always known for endless moments! We are what we write, and it shows as we share what we know…His love!
Very True, Thank you…Much Love and Light!
