4. What’s your writing process like? Good question. I get up at 0400 and write after my morning mediation.

Yes, my favorite poem is Under the Willow, it is a poem I wrote after mediation one morning and I posted it last year the day after Mother’s day to honor all Mothers who weep for a lost child.  I like to write about the transition at death.  I think because I have been at the death of many people (as a nurse) and treasure the spiritual transition and recognize my role in comforting the human emotions left behind.

6. What made you start writing? I first started writing as a teenager it was my creative outlet.

7. What is your favorite topic to write about? Nature and anything spiritual.

8. Who is your favorite poet or author? As a teenager I loved Edgar Allen Poe and as a woman I fell in love with Kahlil Gibran a poet my mother shared her love of poetry with me. 9. What inspires you to write? The beauty of nature and meditation

10. Is there someone famous that you admire? If so, who?  Malala Yousafzai, she has inspired me to be strong and focused. She is an incredibly mature and Divine Spirit that is a continuous manifestation of God’s goodness.  On October 25th, 2012 I posted a poem that I wrote in her honor.  I pray everyday for her to create the wonderful change that God leads her to make.  Please check back in my archives to read the poem.

11. Which time period do you like the most?  Early morning

And finally, answer time: 05/12/2013 3:42pm

While receiving this award is an honor it is also a reminder I need to open myself up to other poets and writers on wordpress.  The work out there is impressive and I have been missing a lot.  Each week my goal is to follow one – two new poet/writer/photographer/blogger.   This will help me grow within the wordpress community.  In many ways I have been a closet blogger/poet as I post and run… I often hit the like button but rush off without commenting.  I read other’s post on my smart phone while stuck in traffic or waiting for the high school tennis match to end.  So the like button is a wonderful relief.

I would like to share this award with the following poets and writers.  Each has helped me think outside my box, they push me out of my comfort zone and challenges me to write and live my truth.   What a great gift to be given by other…most I will never met in my life.  So thank you and many blessings to all.

http://tornadoday.wordpress.com  Bobbie is a very inspiring poet.  I am most impressed by the easy of the flow of words as she creates a picture and tugs at my emotions.  I love the way her words are light in nature yet intensely deep in meaning.  I aspire to write and wrap such images in my own work.

http://jamesfielden.com – So many times I read or listen to James post I know it is the words I needed to hear.  The spiritual meaning, the guidance and the thoughts are as if he took them right from my thoughts and prayers.  James has been a constant beckon of light during my journey.

http://poetscornerblog.wordpress – This poetry corner is very diverse with many great poets.  Harry has done a wonderful job of creating a great site for poets to post their work.  Many I may never had a chance to read if they were not posted here.  I have many favorites on this site.

http://myprettypics.wordpress.com – Dawn has a great site that captures an area I love.  Her photos of Philadelphia PA, my home town, capture my attention every time.    I love revisiting the old dilapidated churches and the wonderful historic homes.

http://dcardiff.wordpress.com – Dennis is somewhat new to the blogging world  he has a much different blog than the ones I normally follow.  Dennis is building a platform for the homeless.  When I was in my 30s as a nurse practitioner I worked with children that were homeless, or in very difficult social situations, crack cocaine addicted, teen mom’s, sexually and physically abused.  Now in my 50’s many years past, I have allowed myself to not see what Dennis sees.  So I thank Dennis for reminding me of my blessings and that I can still send my love and support without directly being involved.

There are many other bloggers that inspire me who have already received this award so I will mention them here as inspiring and encouraging and have been very influential in my continuing with my blog.

Tightrope of Divine Life

•*¨*•¸¸¸.•*¨*•☆ •*¨*•¸¸¸.•*¨*•

There is a man,
Who walks the tightrope of Divine Life,
A man with knowledge of the gift of light.
On the tightrope,
It is the ego’s shallow need
That denies the spirit a chance to breathe.
Using a voice to speak of light,
The ego weaves an illusion of belief.
So hidden in plain sight
Is a man who writes and writes,
Speaking of life with in the light.
So beautifully he leads,
The most trusting Souls.
Enamored,
I give him my heart of gold.
What a wondrous man
He must be,
With a Spirit
Of Divine Purity.
The goal of human life
to live with in the light
A place of joy and love
A human’s eternal right.
So leave the path
And the shallow hold.
Surrender the ego
To honor your Soul. 😉

Spiritual Web

There is a spiritual web woven tight

That guides a soul to the light.

A light… A light…ignites the dark night.

A soul in search of the Divine,

Finds the signs in life’s rhythms and rhyme’s.

They appear where you are,

A connection…a word…a flower…or a twinkling star.

It might be the rose that blooms in the January winds,

A message from God that your long night ends.

A light…A light…ignites the sky.

With a fiery passion that engulfs the human sigh.

Yesterday I posted two poems from March 2012. They represent my love affair with God that has moved me from difficulties in my life, to a place of new beginnings as I re-create my life within the light of God. Today I share a new poem that represents my moving forward in Spirits world of light and knowing that all good is mine to claim as I move forward and release the past within the human sigh engulfed by the passion of God.

In the spiritual world there are many signs to help us move forward. This morning when I checked my blog stats I saw 4,444 views. So I made a mental note to figure out the meaning of this number. Then I went to facebook to see what friends and family are posting. A friend posted a blog on Angels. While we have not spoken in years her post was there for me. It talked about seeing fours as a sign that you are surrounded by many Angels. What a wonderful sign to have on a day of closing the past and opening the future. Over the past few weeks I felt the uncertainty of the future, today I feel great inner peace and calm that all is good. We are all embraced within the spiritual web and God is always communicating to us. It is up to us to see and hear the Divine message.

So I dedicate today’s poem to my life within the light…to keeping an open heart, open mind, eyes fixed on the light, ears open to the words of the Lord and heart overflowing with gratitude for the blessings of my life.   And each of you who rest your eyes within this blog are all a part of the spiritual web…each with a great destiny…each with an abundance of love and prosperity here for you with your eyes fixed on the light.  Release your past within your sigh and allow the passion of God to embrace you.  Namaste, mary

Poetic Couplet

I would like to share today 2 poems that I wrote last year and posted in March.  They are a duet or I call them a “poetic couplet.”  They are meant to be read together as they express my love for Spirit.

Still Pond

It is in the whisper of the willow that I hear your words;
And in the reflection of the water that I see your face.
The ripples that dance across still pond
Reveal our Divine bond.
As I gaze into the sky I see you winking back at me.
You who has painted sun and clouds so perfectly,
Bathed in warmth of a luminous light,
From within I know all things are aright. .
It is at this moment that I am one with Thee.
It is my knowing that all you do is for the love of me.
Today I kneel in my garden that blooms.
With outstretch arms I embrace my Heavenly Groom.
It is with my words that you so graciously gave,
I now speak this poem in loving praise.

Dance In The Night

Sitting in Darkness I feel you running through my hair,

Like fingers twirling with an intimate loving care.

I look into your eyes as I watch the sparkling of the stars.

And feel your essence consume me.

As I listen to your words in rhythm of the chimes,

I settle into the silence feeling our love entwined.

The crickets are humming a love song so sweet.

I slowly rise to my feet.

You take my hand as we dance to their song.

Swaying and moving me along.

You bring me deep into your essence of life,

It is there I meld in a blissful delight.

It is a dance we have performed so often before,

And in this moment Lord our divine love is eternally adorn.

Joy abounds in heart,

Like the romping of the spring fawn.

Selfless, earnest in his quest of life.

Joy flows through the core,

As the rivers rush out to the ocean’s lure.

Abounding joy, heaven within light.

God’s love consummates life.

Ignite…Ignite…the passion of the soul.

Behold…Behold…this moment of time.

A time to embrace the gift of faith.

A time to release the ego’s needs.

A time to unlace the heart so pure…

A time of love and acceptance

That all are adored.

Tears Of Love

Tears of Love

An infant born from seeds of love,

Tragically taken on the wings of the dove.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn,

A parent cries for the precious life once born.

The love of the child untainted simple and pure.

A Divine message from the Lord,

 To embrace the future

A gift to explore.

The young soul carries the torch

Of eternal light.

And should be protected as a right.

A child so pure a human so adored.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn,

A parent cries for the life they’ve born.

Release in this night,

Love for the one you hold,

Give back the spirit,

To be cherished within God’s fold.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

A town cries for the children they born.

Your pain so bound to the dirt and sky,

Will bring you closer to the reason why.

It is the time to ignite the light,

And turn to God instead of fight.

Allow the pain of lose and grief

To release your spirit

From the chains of disbelief.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

The world cries for the children adorn.

Empty arms and a heart that aches

Will bring grace in its wake.

A child has left us alone and scared

A child has died within our care.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

A parent cries for the precious life they’ve born.

I started this poem after the shooting in Newtown Connecticut in honor of the children and adults who died at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  This week I finished this poem and again we have just witnessed violence in Boston taking the life of a child and two adults.  This poem is for all, here in America, and around the world who die from violence at the hands of another.     We are all God’s children, we are all entitled to live and love within the light.  It is no human’s right to take a life.

Running in the darkness of night,

Searching blindly for light.

Life lost, in the Dark Night of the Soul.

A struggle with fear taking control.

In the dark night,

Beauty is lost,

And pain grows,

In the place of the hollow wilted soul.

Emerging in strength the ego seizes hold.

The darkness is darker,

The light a faded memory,

Forcing the soul to its knees.

Wilted, hollow, the lifeless soul

Sees a glimpse of the distant light.

“Keep your eyes on the light,”

Echo the words of the Angels,

While quickly fleeting the dark night.

With each glance the light re-ignites

As the fears melt away.

The power of the soul

Turns the darkest night into emerging grey.

“Come…Come…There is more for you to see.”

Sing the Angels hovering above me.

With Fixed eyes focused on light

The damaged ego releases its hold.

The light so bright burns passion and joy

In the empty hole.

New Life is birthed in this once lost soul.

Read the stars that shine so bright,
A treasure map for the new born life.
The Major and Minor Arcana march,
In unison for the human life embarked.

Whether it is Love, Money, or Power you seek,
The Tarot will reveal lessons for you to tweak.

In the Tarot the Tower will fall
And Death will ride in standing tall.
The struggle and strife from the wands will call
A reminder to the soul,
To let go of the ego’s hollow hold.

Within the cards there is nothing to fear.
A map of your journey is always near.
A message for success to restore Divine right
A love letter for your soul to complete its flight.

When the cup overflows with gratitude and love
The stars hidden meaning will sparkle above.

In the end the Aces reign,
As a gift of The All for all the good they bring.
The soul’s lesson now to be known,
Gives the path for Ascension to the Divine Throne

God’s Calling Card

The March Winds blow as the winter fades,

The Sun peaks out among the clouds

floating in a perfect array.

The worn ground cover pops

with specs of green among the grey.

The barren trees start to bud,

giving me a glimpse

of the creativeness of God above.

In my tiny part of the Lords universe,

I sit in knowing the Lord is there.

The first crocus pop their head,

as if they were saying “Lord I’m out of bed.”

The daffodils are poking through the cool ground

with their stems reaching high for the Lord to see.

I saw a bug flying by who said,

“Lord don’t forget about me!”

Sitting in prayer with the Spirit in my heart,

I know this gift is the Lord’s calling card.

It is a thank you note to me,

that I have chosen to live within Thee.

It is in this moment I say to God Almighty,

“Thank you for this day…Thank you for loving me.”

Nothing is lost!

Lord you create with perfection,
And that perfection is me!
And within this moment the thing I lost
You easily see.
So with your Divine knowledge
I release myself from my human sight.
To see though your Divinity,
What is here in front of me.
Oh Lord, I am most grateful,
For your vision today.
I am most grateful
You lead me on my way.

I started saying this prayer/poem over a year ago in some form or another. Once again today it helped me find what I miss placed. I also use it when I feel a block from my human life filter. Sometimes we need help to know the truth in experiences/situations. So please feel free to use this to help you see what the divine puts in front of you. I love to hear if it helps you find what is miss placed or your vision/thoughts of an experience change.

I am proud to say today is my 1 year anniversary with this blog.  Thank you everyone who reads my words and who has encouraged me in my spiritual journey.  The words you share on your blogs have been inspiring and have helped me grow spiritually and emotionally.   I am most grateful for our friendship.
