Timeless joy in flight,

Suckle on the nectar of life.

Sing of freedom

And accomplish the impossible things.

Follow your journey a miracle of life

Let the hummingbird lead you with all it’s might.

Destiny…whether wrong or right,

Is a gift of spiritual law.

Such a tiny little bird with an essence so big

Pure vibrations from the energy source.

Resonating sounds and spiritual light

That transforms all life.

In the chill of the night

The little creature stops dead in flight,

And is resurrected by warm day-light.

The vibrations in life

Resonate high in spiritual light.

So set your eyes on this Divine sight

And travel with this bird at the speed of life

King

King on a doggie bed with his new toys.

This morning like many morning over the past 3 week I saw a humming bird while I sat on my back porch watching the Dawning Day.  It is my favorite time of day.  The Hummingbird has great spiritual significance…so I wondered each day what does this little bird mean?  Is it a sign my dark night is over…is it a sign there is a new journey ahead…so each morning I thanked Spirit for the little bird and ask the message be revealed to me.  This morning as I sit on the porch with my new best friend I saw the little bird again…this time I know the meaning…

Yesterday I brought home my new dog “King” from the Philadelphia Animal Care and Control Center…He is 14 months old and lovely…(He is not happy he was fixed yesterday).  So I have once again been blessed and my life is in divine order.  Namaste, mary

In all of nature we find The Living Divine.
A Lord that creates beauty from a barren floor.
From the dirt the Bald Cypress rises…
And pays homage on bended knee.
Limbs lifted high worship The Source of Eternity.

The brook a sign of the life that flows from the spring below.
The fallen lotus a cherished path leading to the place to go.
Stop and bask into the waters falls…
See the reflection of light and God’s might.
The rocks removed from hidden places
Give life to a young boy’s vision.
A man made pond a manifestation of the Divine.
Spirit the “God stuff” we are made of…
Lives in each stone, plant and water drop.

Bow your head to the “Lunar Cross”
A blessed piece made of stone
That originated in God’s heart.
Sharing love through other hands.
It is a reminder to all who stand.
That light is always restored.
There is no darkness
No place where light is void.
For darkness is only a perception in human mind.

Within this enchanted garden sit and pray.
Feel the energy, love, and unity of The All in this day.

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure to volunteer in a local garden tour.  I was assigned a beautiful garden hidden in my community.  In my small tight knit community (historic and crowded) I was amazed to find this divine spot.  It was a manifestation of God.  Dreamed of by a young boy, now grown into a man who grew up on the land.  He told me, even as a child while playing on the land, climbing the rocks, playing in the brook he imaged the pond and waterfall he would build and the things he would do to create a beautiful place.  Everything he did within his garden was created from the resources on the land.  He used a fallen lotus tree to pave a path leading to the patio surrounding the pond and waterfall.  The magnificent waterfall was created from the rocks that were hidden in the wooded areas of his property. He used old glass bottles found on the land to craft an artistic display of glass with metal rods along the brook.  Right next to the waterfall stood an incredible stone carved totem pole, topped with a lunar cross, that was a collaboration with the home  owner and two other artist.  As I gazed at the totem pole I felt the love and energy of the Divine Manifestation that occurred on the land.  The energy flowed through me with a cleansing and invigorating wave leaving me with a deep feeling of peace and oneness.  I felt overwhelming gratitude to be there and to share in the beauty. The Divine knew what I needed and how to show me love…I am so thankful for the outpouring of love and clarity I received that day. ” I raise my cup with gratitude, Knowing the Divine Outpouring will fill it to the brim.”  I used this affirmation in prayer in the Divine garden.   Namaste.

Wrapped in a silk cocoon suspended in the Lord’s light.
The journey of the soul to leave the dark night,
is protected with all God’s might.
In human form when the choice is made
God gives his all for his creation to be saved.
The pain and agony of the dark night
gone as you journey into the light.
The illusions of your thoughts
fade away as if it is ice
melting on a sweltering day.
Within the cocoon of love
there is great inner peace
that nurtures your soul..
The memories of the dark night
a small part of your spirits life.
The “you,” of old,
gone with the alchemy of your soul.
Suspended in light wrapped lovingly in God’s might
Your spirit must rest for what God’s will for you
will require your best.

Throughout my life I have been blessed to meet so many incredible people. They are successful, creative, or just plain wonderful for the love they give. It is easy to remember them for their presence and tangible gifts that I see, hear or receive. Sometimes the most inspiring people to me are the ones that touched many people before me and now journey a path that only a few share with them. They have gone from a dynamic individual, and often a life of service for their family, their community, their church, or for the nation, to a journey much different than the one they once lived. They have gone from their peak of greatness to their physical and mental decline. By the time we meet their abilities are so different than who they once were and who others believed them to be. Some are loved unconditionally, yet many are caught in the emotional struggle of family. Loved ones often fear losing them as they were, and fear seeing them in who they have become. Nursing has blessed me to see the beauty in their journey and to be touched by their spirits presence regardless of the frail physical form. Today I write in honor of the gift of love they give me in sharing their presence.

Ode to an Elderly Women

Living within the wrinkled flesh
Sitting before me looking a mess,
Sucking oxygen to take the next breath.
Hair gray and thin crumpled in a birds nest.
Spoken words inaudible
Rotting odor on your breath.
Eyes glassed over as your
Spirit gazes back at me.
I hear it say, “I’m almost free!”
Your earthly years old and wise
Your soul’s life far beyond the human mind.
What a journey your life has been,
A mother, a wife, a business women,
Who survived life’s strife.
Once a beauty that men craved,
You would flash a smile and wear the fashion craze.
Now a sack of bones that just break,
As your dirty clothing hides your loving grace.
Once athletic, chasing your dream,
Now locked in your past is all you see.
Who you are today you do not know
But the past memories give you a loving glow.

Ode to a Veteran

A man so proud who went off to war
A strong man, husband, father and so much more.
Now shattered, limbless, with an injured brain,
You smile with joy as if you were the same.
Your earthly years young compared too many
Your body worn from the anger of war.
You valiantly gave your physical form
For the love of country that you adore.
Your soul’s life far beyond the human mind.
What a journey you have embarked
As you left your life behind.
The gifts from God is all you see
As I greet your spirit each time we met.
My journey regardless of length in time
Has been blessed by the smile you shine.

seed-of-light-award1

I am honored to be nominated by Soumya for the “Seed of Light” award. I love the name of the award and the idea that my words/poems can be a “seed of light” for another.

Soumya has always been a “seed of light” for me since I started this blog.   She is creative and has tirelessly dedicated herself to her blogs and writing.    Over this past 15 months she has always used her kind and loving words to encourage myself and others. I am very touched and appreciative that Soumya continues to see good in my words.  Please visit it at http://soumyav.wordpress.com and I know you will enjoy and grow through her wonderful post.
I have received other awards since starting this blog and I must admit, I often feel mixed emotions.  It is a lovely gesture, and heart warming to receive appreciation from others who find something meaningful in my words.  Yet, I am still new in my journey and soaking up the images, knowledge of others, learning from their words and views and I often feel not yet ready for the accolades.  Perhaps learning to accept is part of my learning

Many blogs I follow are poetry, spiritual, and religious in nature from all over the world with many different cultural influences.  All of these blogs bring to me a greater understanding of who I am within the loving embrace of God and with each of you in unity within the consciousness.  As a novice blogger I know there are thousands of blogs out there spreading “seeds of light” and inspiring thousands and millions of souls with their photos, art, music and words.   At this time I have only dipped my toe into the sea of blogs. So today I choose to honor Soumya’s acknowledgement with a poem….called “Seed of Light” and I dedicate this to all bloggers who share in love their creativity and the lessons of their journey.

Adrift within the breath of the wind,

      floating to a barren land.

Landing gently among the dirty grain,

bathed so lovingly by the rain.

A seed of light,

      buried by worldly debris.

In a place where no one

      would think it may be.

Hidden in a place without light,

      the seed is a speck…a sparkle…that ignites.

A seed of light sent out by the Lord

is growing on your heart’s shore.

A breath, a sigh, the light illuminates the soul inside.

A twinkle from a star so far

has great power to transform who you are.

Adrift in the life you live

the gift of the soul to give.

A moment in time to take

the Lord’s love into your heart and mind.

An emotion and gift so deep,

the seeds of light become the roots

that anchor you to Divine belief.

A seed of light adrift within the wind

Is a gift the Lord does give.

May all your seeds shine in the glory of God’s light!

Spiritual Web

There is a spiritual web woven tight

That guides a soul to the light.

A light… A light…ignites the dark night.

A soul in search of the Divine,

Finds the signs in life’s rhythms and rhyme’s.

They appear where you are,

A connection…a word…a flower…or a twinkling star.

It might be the rose that blooms in the January winds,

A message from God that your long night ends.

A light…A light…ignites the sky.

With a fiery passion that engulfs the human sigh.

Yesterday I posted two poems from March 2012. They represent my love affair with God that has moved me from difficulties in my life, to a place of new beginnings as I re-create my life within the light of God. Today I share a new poem that represents my moving forward in Spirits world of light and knowing that all good is mine to claim as I move forward and release the past within the human sigh engulfed by the passion of God.

In the spiritual world there are many signs to help us move forward. This morning when I checked my blog stats I saw 4,444 views. So I made a mental note to figure out the meaning of this number. Then I went to facebook to see what friends and family are posting. A friend posted a blog on Angels. While we have not spoken in years her post was there for me. It talked about seeing fours as a sign that you are surrounded by many Angels. What a wonderful sign to have on a day of closing the past and opening the future. Over the past few weeks I felt the uncertainty of the future, today I feel great inner peace and calm that all is good. We are all embraced within the spiritual web and God is always communicating to us. It is up to us to see and hear the Divine message.

So I dedicate today’s poem to my life within the light…to keeping an open heart, open mind, eyes fixed on the light, ears open to the words of the Lord and heart overflowing with gratitude for the blessings of my life.   And each of you who rest your eyes within this blog are all a part of the spiritual web…each with a great destiny…each with an abundance of love and prosperity here for you with your eyes fixed on the light.  Release your past within your sigh and allow the passion of God to embrace you.  Namaste, mary

I would like to share today 2 poems that I wrote last year and posted in March.  They are a duet or I call them a “poetic couplet.”  They are meant to be read together as they express my love for Spirit.

Still Pond

It is in the whisper of the willow that I hear your words;
And in the reflection of the water that I see your face.
The ripples that dance across still pond
Reveal our Divine bond.
As I gaze into the sky I see you winking back at me.
You who has painted sun and clouds so perfectly,
Bathed in warmth of a luminous light,
From within I know all things are aright. .
It is at this moment that I am one with Thee.
It is my knowing that all you do is for the love of me.
Today I kneel in my garden that blooms.
With outstretch arms I embrace my Heavenly Groom.
It is with my words that you so graciously gave,
I now speak this poem in loving praise.

Dance In The Night

Sitting in Darkness I feel you running through my hair,

Like fingers twirling with an intimate loving care.

I look into your eyes as I watch the sparkling of the stars.

And feel your essence consume me.

As I listen to your words in rhythm of the chimes,

I settle into the silence feeling our love entwined.

The crickets are humming a love song so sweet.

I slowly rise to my feet.

You take my hand as we dance to their song.

Swaying and moving me along.

You bring me deep into your essence of life,

It is there I meld in a blissful delight.

It is a dance we have performed so often before,

And in this moment Lord our divine love is eternally adorn.

Joy abounds in heart,

Like the romping of the spring fawn.

Selfless, earnest in his quest of life.

Joy flows through the core,

As the rivers rush out to the ocean’s lure.

Abounding joy, heaven within light.

God’s love consummates life.

Ignite…Ignite…the passion of the soul.

Behold…Behold…this moment of time.

A time to embrace the gift of faith.

A time to release the ego’s needs.

A time to unlace the heart so pure…

A time of love and acceptance

That all are adored.

Tears of Love

An infant born from seeds of love,

Tragically taken on the wings of the dove.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn,

A parent cries for the precious life once born.

The love of the child untainted simple and pure.

A Divine message from the Lord,

 To embrace the future

A gift to explore.

The young soul carries the torch

Of eternal light.

And should be protected as a right.

A child so pure a human so adored.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn,

A parent cries for the life they’ve born.

Release in this night,

Love for the one you hold,

Give back the spirit,

To be cherished within God’s fold.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

A town cries for the children they born.

Your pain so bound to the dirt and sky,

Will bring you closer to the reason why.

It is the time to ignite the light,

And turn to God instead of fight.

Allow the pain of lose and grief

To release your spirit

From the chains of disbelief.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

The world cries for the children adorn.

Empty arms and a heart that aches

Will bring grace in its wake.

A child has left us alone and scared

A child has died within our care.

The tears of love fall from those that mourn

A parent cries for the precious life they’ve born.

I started this poem after the shooting in Newtown Connecticut in honor of the children and adults who died at Sandy Hook Elementary School.  This week I finished this poem and again we have just witnessed violence in Boston taking the life of a child and two adults.  This poem is for all, here in America, and around the world who die from violence at the hands of another.     We are all God’s children, we are all entitled to live and love within the light.  It is no human’s right to take a life.

The March Winds blow as the winter fades,

The Sun peaks out among the clouds

floating in a perfect array.

The worn ground cover pops

with specs of green among the grey.

The barren trees start to bud,

giving me a glimpse

of the creativeness of God above.

In my tiny part of the Lords universe,

I sit in knowing the Lord is there.

The first crocus pop their head,

as if they were saying “Lord I’m out of bed.”

The daffodils are poking through the cool ground

with their stems reaching high for the Lord to see.

I saw a bug flying by who said,

“Lord don’t forget about me!”

Sitting in prayer with the Spirit in my heart,

I know this gift is the Lord’s calling card.

It is a thank you note to me,

that I have chosen to live within Thee.

It is in this moment I say to God Almighty,

“Thank you for this day…Thank you for loving me.”
