Forbidden Truth

After the start of the year I started in an on line poetry class.  It has been a challenge for me to stretch beyond what I normally write and to find the Divine in each subject.  The class is titled: The Study of Myth.  This poem is from one of the earlier classes that included the story of Adam and Eve.  So this is my version of Adam and Eve.

adam and eve

Succulent fruit hanging on the vine.

Humans and animals living in

harmony with the Divine.

Beauty of the creating Lord

flourishes in blooms and grasses

across the garden floor.

Adam and Eve stroll among the grasses and leaves,

living a life of grace and easy.

Man and women created to celebrate

the harmony and joy of this garden so great,

can pet the lions and play with the hounds,

and live in a world without barriers or .bounds

A garden of love for animals, insects, plants and trees.

A love of one another and the Divine Creative Source

Through the choice and thought’s they made,

God gave them the ability to co-create.

Universal Law a gift from God,

says it is your thoughts that create the life

and feelings you procreate.

In contemplation of wanting more

Adam and Eve ventured to the forbidden tree

protected by a serpent of truth.

Eve asked, “What is it you protect in this tree?”

Slithering in silence the snake left his perch,

to look the couple in the eye,

to see what questions

the souls were hiding inside.

As he looked he saw the souls trying to re-align,

“One choice can send your world in a spin,”

is what this serpent said to them.

“It is our right to know…what it is this tree does grow?”

Responded Eve.

The serpent moved closer to see what Adam didn’t show,

“Why are you so silent and not asking to know?”

Asked the snake then hissed and moved slow.

“It is my partner’s plight to see the truth in a different light,

and there is no one else for me to love so joyously.”

“Ahhh,” said the serpent,

“A couple so free, in a garden of bliss,

so eager to separate

from the Divine that created all of this.

Yes, it is your choice to taste the fruit.

And, I will tell you it is your choice that

grows the Garden of Eden

or creates a world of fears and hate.

Use your thoughts and choices wisely…

For they will quickly procreate.”

The serpent slide from the tree

to reveal the lush fruit.

In last words he said,

“You have received the message from your Creator,

Who has given you this freedom to choose.

And always, God will sit and wait for you,

Receiving you back regardless of what you think and do.

In re-alignment you will find the Garden of Eden is still divine.”

Further from the tree he slid,

and one last time looked back to see

the forms of Adam and Eve lose their radiant light

as they bite the fruit from the forbidden tree.

It did not take long for the ego to take hold

and the life of contrast ignite

into a world of illusions and fright.

Welcome Spring!

Gently the breeze blows in..

Quietly the seasons change…

The sun bright and high…

Blows a kiss to the winter good bye…

Snow

snowflake.2

Snow

The flakes so unique with perfect form

A Divine creation of the Lord is born.

Drifting down from the clouds so high

Swirling in the winds that tie the world’s skies.

A single form, a cluster of few, a flying snowball,

Snow sloshing wet in my shoe.

Beneath the soft fluffy blanket of white

The cold ground shivers in the sun light.

A wet snow, a frozen road, an arctic blast

Is heat alive in contrast.

Photo credit: I must admit I do not remember where exactly I found this photo.  I believe it was on one of the wonderful blogs I read.    The credit of the uniqueness and perfect form of each snow flake goes to God.  I hope all are warm and with power!  The storms in my area have been beautiful. The heaviness of the snow and ice has been problematic to the electric wires and many are still without power.  I am nestled all warm and cozy in my home.  Very blessed!  Namaste, mary

The winds of December

Unusually warm,

Push out the darkness

From hearts so torn.

The return of light

Now promised

on this December night.

As seasons change

Our hearts rearrange

How we feel the light.

 csl-solstice-2013

Release the old

On this joyous night.

Clear your heart for the

Returning light.

Sweep your thoughts

Of anger and fears.

Allow the light

To pull you near.

It is the Spirit

that embraces you tight

It is the Spirit that lives in the light.

On this Solstice Night

Make a choice to see

All that is right.

Choose the Light, The Lord,

The Great Energy Source

Invite the Spirit that resides within

To manifest Your Life

With Love from here in.

Last evening I attended a wonderful Winter Solstice celebration that inspired this poem.

Many blessings this Holiday Season.

To Honor

This morning I was inspired to write as I watch the News broadcast about the death of Nelson Mandela.  An inspiring man whose life has transformed a country and was a role model of Spiritual Ascension.   While these words are in first person, I offer them in gratitude to honor his life and Spirit.

You are in the breath I breathe in the cold winter’s night,

You are the leafless tree’s silhouette in the early grey light.

There you are in the bellowing winds beckoning me.

Under a cloud covered moon in my heart’s Eternity.

I release myself to your embracing Divinity,

In this moment of my spiritual ecstasy.

For my Spirit continues its travel on the road of Infinity.

Now not a fear in sight, nor a sorrow to morn

Only the Divine goodness of Spirit’s love adorned.

Heart and Rock

While I am waiting for my computer to be repaired I wish to share a poem from May 2012.

God Is I Am

****

As the Spirit flies in the sky

Above the cannon and rocks so high,

The cascading flow from the water source

Ebbs and course through the core.

The world so grand is created

By the One Spiritual hand.

In a land that flows with

God’s eternal light

Is the land where life exist

In perfect harmony.

Grace between air, water and dirt

Is the inherent nature of the earth.

The water moves

Across the rocks

And leaves a gorge in the core.

The river way

Spawns life and breath into

Those that swim and

Animals that play.

While the trees and plants grow

From the earth’s floor.

The sunlight ignites

The beauty of the Lord.

All life in and beneath the sky

Is a reflection of God’s creative side.

The Spirit that flows…

A soul ablaze in the infinite haze,

Burning hot the celestial lot.

A Divine soul free of control.

Free of human thought and

Deprecating hate.

Free of human struggle, torment and greed.

The soul a divine essence

Created perfectly.

A soul never is broken or bruised

Is only block by your human mood.

Your thoughts that grow in the ravishing ego,

Are nothing more than reflections of

Human hurt and your choice to self-deplore.

The true journey we all embark

Is a quest of love

And unity within God’s heart.

Running Late

This weekend I found myself rushing to finish things and to keep my schedule.   At one point I made myself stop and said, “This is how you miss the best part of your day.”   So I slowed myself down and turned my focus to a poem I wrote in March 2012.  I would like to share it with you as a reminder there are many gifts to see within each day…. don’t let yourself miss them!

Lord, I was running late you see,

when I set off for Sunday Celebration of Thee.

I took the short cut around the town

to skip the traffic lights that slow me down.

I quickly ended up on the Pike

thinking now it would be alright.

In a hurry I rushed,

I rushed down the road and passed the horse farm without a hitch.

I turned the bend a little fast and saw the geese in my path.

I hit the brake and stopped in a blast.

Just in time, as they march one by one in a straight line.

An elder Goose ran up to the car with a squawk to say,

“Hey, there is a speed limit here, didn’t you see?”

One by one they came through the bush,

And impatiently I said, “Oh just fly so I can get on by”

And finally as the line seemed to thin

the little goslings waddled in.

One after another with mother goose on their tail,

They lolly gagged and sauntered in a childish array,

as if they wanted to play.

When all were safely out of the road,

The elder goose squawked, “Go hurry on your way.”

So off I went in a fluster of worry

to arrive on time for the Celebration of Thee.

Up the steep hill by the park I flew

and over the top my car just sailed.

As I landed on the slope going down the road,

I saw a lady and dog a good distance away.

My immediate thought was,

it would be Ok.

So with my foot on the gas I continue on my way.

Yet something was wrong with my approach.

The old dog was slow and appeared to be stiff.

I hit the brakes and this time the dust flew,

scaring the old dog and the lady too.

So I smiled and waved with all my love

And under my breath I said,

“Hurry I’m already late. The celebration won’t wait.”

So as I sat and watched

I said, “See Lord it’s just not my fault that I am late today,

All these things are in my way.”

Finally, as the dog approached the other side I took off for you.

I blew through a stop sign with easy and some care

and arrived with no time to spare.

As I shut down the car, I said, “finally I’m here to give you praise”

And the Lord responded, “You silly girl,

I gave you gifts to see, the order in the geese and new goslings.

I wanted you to stop to see the spirit of me.

The spirit of dog, a divine creature you see.

As I am God and we are one in the same

And share the same letters to our name.

Somehow this morning you’re rushing to me,

Left you blind to my gifts to see.”

Divine Manifestation

In all of nature we find The Living Divine.
A Lord that creates beauty from a barren floor.
From the dirt the Bald Cypress rises…
And pays homage on bended knee.
Limbs lifted high worship The Source of Eternity.

The brook a sign of the life that flows from the spring below.
The fallen lotus a cherished path leading to the place to go.
Stop and bask into the waters falls…
See the reflection of light and God’s might.
The rocks removed from hidden places
Give life to a young boy’s vision.
A man made pond a manifestation of the Divine.
Spirit the “God stuff” we are made of…
Lives in each stone, plant and water drop.

Bow your head to the “Lunar Cross”
A blessed piece made of stone
That originated in God’s heart.
Sharing love through other hands.
It is a reminder to all who stand.
That light is always restored.
There is no darkness
No place where light is void.
For darkness is only a perception in human mind.

Within this enchanted garden sit and pray.
Feel the energy, love, and unity of The All in this day.

Several weeks ago I had the pleasure to volunteer in a local garden tour.  I was assigned a beautiful garden hidden in my community.  In my small tight knit community (historic and crowded) I was amazed to find this divine spot.  It was a manifestation of God.  Dreamed of by a young boy, now grown into a man who grew up on the land.  He told me, even as a child while playing on the land, climbing the rocks, playing in the brook he imaged the pond and waterfall he would build and the things he would do to create a beautiful place.  Everything he did within his garden was created from the resources on the land.  He used a fallen lotus tree to pave a path leading to the patio surrounding the pond and waterfall.  The magnificent waterfall was created from the rocks that were hidden in the wooded areas of his property. He used old glass bottles found on the land to craft an artistic display of glass with metal rods along the brook.  Right next to the waterfall stood an incredible stone carved totem pole, topped with a lunar cross, that was a collaboration with the home  owner and two other artist.  As I gazed at the totem pole I felt the love and energy of the Divine Manifestation that occurred on the land.  The energy flowed through me with a cleansing and invigorating wave leaving me with a deep feeling of peace and oneness.  I felt overwhelming gratitude to be there and to share in the beauty. The Divine knew what I needed and how to show me love…I am so thankful for the outpouring of love and clarity I received that day. ” I raise my cup with gratitude, Knowing the Divine Outpouring will fill it to the brim.”  I used this affirmation in prayer in the Divine garden.   Namaste.

Returning

Today I post after a long break since my last post. While I read many post as they came into my email. I made a conscious decision to focus on my spiritual practice within me. Many of you knew I had a fabulous trip to China. While I went to a country I did not know and I did not know what to expect, I found a new and higher level of spiritual awakening.

So it is time for me to turn back outward and reignite my passion for writing spiritual poetry. Thank you all for your wonderful, wise and often needed words. I choose to follow many blogs that lift me up and keep me focused on the light of God. You each play a valuable part in my support system and in my spiritual confidence to stay focused. Namaste!
